About Restoration Concepts

Restoration Concepts, Inc. was founded by Thomas Gray, a veteran clinician with over 15 years of experience in the human services field. In his most recent public sector position as a Guardian Representative for Pathways LME, Gray recognized gaps in services for adults with severe mental illness. In an effort to secure services for individuals on his caseload, mostly residents of Adult Care Homes (rest homes), he approached several providers but found them reluctant to deliver services in these settings. Continuing to plead the case of so many who were unserved or under-served resulted in only limited success.

As a long-time advocate for adults with mental illness, Gray could not in good conscience ignore the problem. In order to create a solution, he partnered with Lisa Lanier, a North Carolina attorney with a state-wide practice through which she has gained valuable perspectives and keen insights into human service issues.

Together, Gray and Lanier set out to lay the foundation of a company that would advocate for all citizens with mental health issues, regardless of residential setting, degree of case difficulty or other factors which have historically presented obstacles to effective treatment.

The result of their efforts, Restoration Concepts, provides Diagnostic Assessment, Community Support, Targeted Case Management and Therapeutic Services to eligible consumers. These services help link individuals to needed resources by assessing eligibility for additional services, coordinating treatment, and monitoring services and natural supports which increase community involvement.

Restoration Concepts originated in Pathways LME (Gaston, Lincoln, and Cleveland Counties) and continues a rapid expansion in response to consumer needs.
